Replacement for my 1.6 '03 Civic

I feel the need to replace my '03 1.6 five-door Civic. Owned since '04, it's low mileage, close to impeccable but at nearly 10 years old, it's due for replacement.

My existing car is everything I need and dirt cheap to run and maintain; always done by Honda and a pleasure to deal with them. If there was an updated version I'd just buy it, but there isn't. I had a couple of years use from new of an '09 2.2 Civic.

Loved the drive and economy, but not the rock hard ride, poor rear vision for reversing, low headroom and awkward front seat access.

Retired, I'm not likely to do more than say 6000miles a year, so maintenance costs are an issue; I do occasional long trips in the UK and Europe, so I don't want anything smaller. I'm looking to buy up to a year old, and keep for a few years. Total reliability, low maintenance costs, and a good dealer come way before fancy tin and gadgets.
