A fun car with good ground clearance?
Soon I shall need to replace my 2 year old Giulietta 1.4 multi-air for something that is good on steep hills, mud and rutted tracks so will need fairly high ground clearance. What would be a good choice - either new or used - without compromising too much on an enjoyable drive?
It will be used for a 100 mile motorway run a few times a month with short town runs in between. I probably don't need a diesel or anything too big but am open to suggestions. I can only afford a few thousand pounds on top of whatever I get for the Alfa.

A Skoda Yeti 1.8TSI 160 4WD is the most fun SUV you can buy. More fun than a lot of 'hot hatches'.
