Buying an extended warranty - what would you recommend?

My BMW Z4 factory warranty is due to expire. I have received a letter from BMW Warranty offering me an extended warranty. My car has done 33,000 and has a full BMWSH.

For comprehensive cover for 12 months they have quoted me £548 with Emergency Service Insurance also and £0 excess.

I am concerned that wear and tear items are not covered with this and have had a quote also from Warranty Direct. After a phone call back from them I have been quoted £499 with a £50 excess. On close scrutiny of the policy document there are a lot of get out clauses - in car entertainment system (my car has idrive/sat nav), plus folding roof mechanisms etc. I have contacted warranty direct who assure me that the roof mechanism is covered, but the actual roof counts as bodywork and therefore isn't.

I have read so many positive and negative comments for each I am baffled! The two are essentially the same price and I don't know which one to go for. I would be grateful for your advice.

For the same price, reader experiences show that a claim via a BMW dealer on the BMW warranty is likely to be settled a lot more quickly than a claim on a WD warranty.
