Rights with a faulty
A relative bought a Hyundai i10 from a dealer near Portsmouth 18 months ago and was persuaded by that dealer to change it after 12 months - this one is now nearly six months old but she has had it on the road for less than 6 weeks due to a persistant engine oil leak and other small faults, The garage now say they are going to ask Hyundai to "let them put another engine in it". Clearly she is unhappy about this and does not trust the vehicle any more - what are her rights please?

The dealer has to fix or replace the car. Since the fault has been present since new, she could under the Supreme Court ruling in Clegg v Olle Anderson (trading as Nordic Marine) 2003, insist on a full refund.
