Do I need to idle my Skoda turbo?

Under the heading "Bawl bearing" in your page in a recent edition of Daily Telegraph Motoring, you referred to the recommendation of Toyota when switching off turbo engines.

My brother in law showed this to a Skoda dealer, from whom he had just purchased a 3 year old Skoda diesel, who said there was no need to follow this practice with their engines.

I would much prefer to accept your advice so would you care to comment on this response?

Actually Skoda recommends idling turbos in its drivers manuals.
