Parking ticket removed from my car - so I missed payment.

Yesterday I opened a letter from Enfield council alleging that I parked my car in contravention of the parking regulations on 7 July. This was the first I had heard of the contravention, not having seen a parking ticket on my windscreen.

I have looked at the photographic evidence and agree that I have contravened the rules and can see that a ticket was affixed to the windscreen. Had I seen the ticket I would have paid it immediately (thereby saving approx £55).

Is there any point in making representations to Enfield Council to see if they would accept the lower charge or should I simply pay up now and be done with it?

These appeal go the the parking adjudicators at London Councils. Whether you win or lose is hit and miss. What I guess happened is that some vandal pulled the ticket off the screen and threw it away.
