UKPC fined me for parking at my place of work

I have just received a letter from UKPC 'inviting' me to pay a Parking Charge for £90.00, stating that "if after a period of 28 days, the amount requested in this Notice has not been paid in full you, the Registered Keeper, will, subject to the conditions of, and under the terms of, Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, be liable to pay the unpaid Parking Charge". The car park is situated at Aylesbury Shopping Park, Cambridge Close, Aylesbury and contains various stores such as Argos and Comet.

Despite working for Comet at the time of issue (issued: 17 October 2012 - I did not put a ticket on display because of my employment with Comet), I asked the attendant (whose name I do not have) to remove my ticket (he said he would), but obviously that's not the case. I telephoned UKPC but received a rather predictable response, saying that I should contest the Parking Charge through their website accordingly.

I have read numerous forum discussions and most say that people should just ignore the letters/threats, but I am concerned I will be taken to court. I would really appreciate your point of view.
