Do I have to do anything with the private plate on my car?

I have recently purchased a pre-owned Jaguar XK8 convertible from a private individual. The lady in question, yes it had one lady owner, sold me her private plate with the car. I now have a V5 from the dvla with the car registered with the plate. Do I have to do anything else with the plate, like tranfer ownership of the plate fromn the previous car owner to me for the plate specifically? Are the any restrictions on using this plate, or can I transfer it to another car or sell it if I wish?

No, the plate came with the car. If you want to take it off the car, there is a procedure for keeping it on a retention certificate and then transferring it to another car. But as things stand the registration is as much a part of the car as any registration on any car.
