Parking fine - where the legal owner is not the driver

I parked my wife's car in a shopping area which previously had not been subject to parking restrictions. I was not aware of the notices. My wife has received demands for payment from UKPC and Debt Recovery Plus Ltd but has not communicated with either company.

DRPL is now threatening County Court action.

Can you advise on any further action?

In the last year only 49 parking contract cases out of 1,600,000 tickets issued actually went to court.
