What preparation to do before a sale?

Three questions. My lovely BMW 330i SE Touring first reg 05/02/2001. Mileage 116,000 is now turning into money pit. Various sensors replaced etc.

Steering Angle Sensor now needs replacing and re-coding. Had quote from independant service organisation (good people) for £392.00. Reckon this is time to part company with car.

Following HJ's Telegraph advice I could sell through auction. Should I have problem fixed first or put to auction with DSC and Brake warning lights active? What might I expect to get at Auction?

Would it be better to use car as trade-in?

Fix it first then put through www.sure-sell.info if you don't fix it all you will get will be low trade bids. If it's fixed you could get private bids as well and a much better price.
