Parking charges - should I ignore?

I recently received a parking charge notice from parking eye at burtonwood services on the M62. This was not a pay and display car park and it was dark so the driver could not be identified. After looking on varipus websites, the general consensus was to ignore them. Is this the right thing to do?

Yes. If you parked at a service area then you were obeying government instructions: "Tiredness can kill. Take a break." As long as you remained in the service area. If you parked there then went somewhere else you are liable for breach of contract.
