Used 4x4 recommendation

I'm looking at a '58 plate (facelift model), manual XC90 SE with 78000 miles for 15995. I've test driven it and it is immaculate. However I am concerned residuals will crash when the new XC90 appears (supposedly next year) Drive the Deal was recently offering new dealer XC90 SE's sourced for 11k off list. Also this car design is over 10 years old now. Is it still a good buy, or is a Discovery 3 / Nissan Pathfinder a better option? I need the 7 seats and 4 wheel drive and have around 19k to spend.

Look also at the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. New Santa Fe on the way and probably a mechanical upgrade of the Sorento so there might be deals on the current Santa Fe via drivethedeal.
