Honda Jazz or SEAT Ibiza?

I currently have an 04 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec - bit of an impulse buy last year and now finding it very costly to run. Insurance and Tax both high and as I do mainly town centre driving - bacically pottering about - I'm getting about 32mpg.
Have done my homework this time, especially as I only have a budget of around £3000. I need a decent boot space for my dog so can't go too small. Fuel economy, tax and insurance costs also important.

The cost of switching will alone be around £1,500. Not worth it. You could go down to a Fiesta 1.25, because they are pretty reliable, but that's as low as I'd go. £3,000 Citroen C1s, 107s and Aygos may seem cheap to run but start falling apart after 3 - 4 years.
