Selling Audi A4 at auction

My friend has approached British Car Auctions to sell her 11 year old Audi A4 2.0 petrol. They have valued it at about £2700. However, they are un-prepared to allow a reserve to be put on. Was it unrealistic to expect to place a reserve on a car of that age?

Yes. They'll sell it for you, but don't want to waste their time.
