Buying a 'trade sale' car?

Are my rights affected re Sale of Goods act if I buy a car from a dealer who claims they sell vehicles at trade prices aimed at businesses?

I bought a vehicle as a consumer a month ago and want to return it has since been deemed unroadworthy i.e head gasket blew within 2 weeks and there is severe corrosion on the underside of the vehicle (they provided me with a new MOT cert).

However, I've since discovered that as they have stated their business as a 'trade yard' where they sell vehicles at 'trade' prices in their terms that I may not be entitled to the protection afforded by the sales of good act 1979.

Is this true? I would dispute that they sold it to me at trade price as it has been valued at less than 50% of what I originally paid.

Depends on whether or not you bought the car to re-sell, and that depends on whether it was at a genuine trade price or not. If you buy on trade terms as a trader you are expected to know what you are doing and you have no consumer rights.
