Are runflat tyres for my 3 Series BMW readily available in France?

A friend of mine has a 1 Series BMW with runflat tyres and I have a 3 Series with them. He was recently stuck in France due to the lack of availability of these tyres following a puncture. He called the BMW emergency service and they could not get him a spare tyre for over a week, and his car had to be transported back to the UK. Is there an availability problem with these tyres? Should I be worried about a trip to France?

As far as I know, they are mainly handled by Speedy Tyres in France (French arm of Kwik Fit). But I did a check and Speedy Tyres is not open on Sundays.
