Why is my Skoda Fabia Greenline II returning worse mpg than the Fabia Greenline I I had previously?

I have recently bought a Skoda Fabia Greenline II estate, having run a Greenline I estate for nearly three years and easily achieved the stated combined mpg of 68.9. It was therefore with confidence that I looked forward to better figures from the Greenline II. However, after 2,600 miles, rather than improving on the old car, it struggles to get to even 65mpg. It should have lost its initial tightness by now, shouldn't it? Do you think there is anything wrong with it?

No. I think that is all you are going to get. Post your figure in the Real Life Fuel Economy Register here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg

Decently built and good value. Cheap to run. Greenline models are very economical with low CO2 emissions.
