Could you promote the virtues of buying British cars in your column?

With the current financial crisis it would make sense to try and be patriotic. Buying new cars made in Britain is entirely possible and we can support the workforce even if the companies involved are foreign owned. GB makes all types from high-end luxury, sports, utility, to economy vehicles. It would be constructive in your articles if you could promote those made here but perhaps with choices from abroad and why in your opinion the foreign made ones are better. I also think that the government could also give us encouragement to buy British-made cars and other items made here.

For my part, after much research I have a LandRover Freelander on order. I have no doubt that had I asked your advice you would have suggested the Skoda Yeti or some other foreign vehicle that admittedly would probably cost less, but in my opinion would not be so good. I hope I am right but at least I can say that my car is supporting British workers. Time for us all to support Britain, which in turn will hopefully result in more investment in our infrastructure and resulting work for our people.

I went to the Geneva Motor Show in March with the intention of making the Mclaren MP4 12C the star of my video and emphasising that even a Britain destroyed by the previous bad government could still produce the best and most practical supercar in the World. The MP4 12C is the most significant car the British motor industry has produced this century. Wholly British designed, built by a British-owned business and technology centre in Woking, and actually something the Brits can be proud of, instead of ashamed of. But it wasn't at Geneva. Big mistake, Ron.
