Why is my new BMW X3 late, and which wax treatment should I use on it?

I refer to your comments regarding the need to have BMW cars wax treated, and would like to know the relative merits of the two 'Autoglym' products mentioned, one at some £20 and another £40. I ordered a new F25 X3 some four months ago and am still awaiting delivery, with anticipated delivery now intimated as the end of the month. The car apparently left the USA three weeks ago and seems to have taken a 'round the world trip.' Are you aware of any production problems?

Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection is best applied after cleaning the paint and polishing with Autoglym super resin polish. Extra Gloss costs £20 for a bottle that treats and retreats the car for a couple of years. Autoglym Hi Def Wax is a part Carnuba wax that gives protection for up to four months and an excellent shine, but is quite difficult to apply uniformly and has no cutting properties like a polish. That's £40 a tub that lasts a couple of years. A polish cleans up the paint by cutting into it. A wax gives a shine by sitting on top of the paint. The only problem is that Extra Gloss takes a couple of hours to cure in a dry atmosphere.

The F25 X3 is excellent – as good as the old X3 was bad, and demand is exceeding supply.
