Should I pay for protective polymer coating?

I have just ordered a new Jaguar F-Type in red. Would you recommend the extra protective polymer coating at £500?

I'm not familiar with this treatment. But red is more vulnerable than other colours to oxidation. If you are paying £500 it better be guartanteed for at least five years, otherwise you're just paying £100 for the treatment and £400 in commission to the salesman.
