Is there a known problem with the FIAT 500's stop-start system?
Please can you tell me if you are aware of an engine management problem on the FIAT 500? I understand there have been a number of complaints. I have had a problem with my start-stop on a 1.4 Lounge.

Yes, I have received a couple of complaints about the start-stop. There have also been reports of start-stop failures on MINIs, though this can be temperature related. The systems won’t work if ambient temperature is below 3 degrees or if the battery charge is low. But I've been running a 500 1.2 petrol since April 2008 with no problems at all. Absolutely none. And 54 mpg in the summer.
