How can so many of your readers afford to change cars for relatively minor reasons?

One of your emailers was prepared to stump up £21,000 and part-ex his Mondeo because he wanted “something a little higher than his Mondeo”. Another is happy to part-ex his recent Ford Focus Ghia and also pay out £20,000 because he had “difficulties” in last year's snow and ice. Tell me, Honestly John, It's me, isn't it? O, lead me to a darkened cell.

Be grateful that people like these are still keeping the internal economy alive, even though no one in the UK can really afford anything without further borrowing from the rest of the world.
