Vibrating Audi A6

I've got vibration at cold & idle at 1600-1800 revs, then tails away. When driving cold, it loses power at that rev range too.

My mechanic has said it's an imbalance in the engine. No fuel issues, flywheel & clutch just changed, air mass sensors replaced. 2 Injectors have been changed before I had the car (over 2 yrs) with no problems.

He suggests it could need a replacement injector (injector loom changed last week), or that a connector rod is bent. Have you heard of this, or have any other suggestions?

Well we haven't heard of a bent con rod before .
having checked on the process for checking out "vibration at idle"
we have listed the process below.
1.Air in the fuel system
2.Incorrect valve timing
3.Fuel level in tank low
4.Condition of fuel filters/pipes
5.Engine mechanical condition
6.Engine mountings
7.Carry out diagnostic check
8.Injectors
9.ECT ( engine coolant temp sensor)
10.ECU (engine management system) connections wiring
11.ECU
If your mechanic carries out the process in the correct order then one would suggest that he/she should find the fault.
