Family estate for A roads

I'm looking for suggestions on purchasing a family estate car that's capable of overtaking on A roads with confidence. We own a Kia Rio 51 plate 1.5 SE and its simply not up to the task any more. Our problem lies with us having passed our driving test just over a year ago. We are both 30/31 years old and have a 1 years no claims.

Is there an Estate car that's in a lower insurance group that can achieve 0-62 in 10 secs or less?

I don't have estate cars listed by insurance group. But a 51 reg Rio is just about the pits. Almost anything will feel quicker. You don't mention money. A KIA cee'd 1.6 SW or a Hyundai i30 1.6 SW might do the job. Unless you will be doing a big mileage, best to avoid diesels.
