Unfortunately there are many Nissan Leaf owners in a similar position, and the number of CHADEMO charging points has declined by more than 10% in the last five years as the majority of new charging stations are focusing on CCS which is used by the vast majority of electric vehicles, although the data suggests that across Europe suggests that it is a case of CHADEMO charge points being installed at a slower rate compared to CCS, and this reflects the adoption of CCS as the primary choice for European manufacturers compared to those in Japan.

It is disappointing that Nissan are not more active in providing a solution for customers, as a more helpful response would encourage current owners to stick with their current vehicles. With no recognised adaptor endorsed by the manufacturer it is more a case of relying on the experience of others, and the most popular option appears to be the Electway CCS to CHADEMO adaptor. While not cheap, it does offer some important functionalities, in particular the ability to receive firmware updates to ensure compatibility as well as the ability to perform the required 'digital handshake' between the car and the charger.
