What sports car would be suitable for my 6ft 6 son?
My son (22) is looking to replace his first car with something more exciting. He ideally wants to buy a 2 seater, but I want to ensure he buys something reliable and safe enough to use year round. He wants a Honda S2000, but I am concerned about the handling and the age, as well as the potential repair costs! We've also looked at GT86/BRZ and I wondered would what you would recommend with a £15k budget or PCP payment of sub £300. MX-5 is the obvious choice, but he is 6'6" basketballer, so I think too small. He doesn't want a hatchback.

Your son's height does mean he needs to be somewhat selective about which cars to consider, and more than likely eliminates the Mazda MX-5 although he may wish to try one for size as it is an excellent choice. The Honda S2000 is an exciting option, but at 22 and this being only his second car insurance may be an issue, as well as it being potentially a tricky car to drive for someone less experienced. His height may also be an issue here too. The Toyota GT86 or Subaru BRZ is likely the best option - we would choose the Toyota version over the Subaru as it has the more lively handling, although you may wish to go for the BRZ as it is a little more planted and predictable due to slight differences in suspension tuning. But they are few and far between.
