What EV for £30k fo you suggest?

My son is starting a new job and his commute will be 80 miles a couple of times a week. He has 2 kids 11 and 9. He needs a reliable car for a commute of 80 miles mainly on motorways. He would like to buy an electric perhaps up to 2 years old with a substantial range but also with good boot capacity. Also, is it advisable to buy on a pcp to get any manufacturers discount and then pay it off straight away? He would have a Chinese if that is appropriate.

With a budget of £30,000 there are plenty of options for used electric vehicles that will meet these needs. You can read our guide to the best used electric cars here - www.honestjohn.co.uk/guides/electric-cars/best-use.../ - but we would suggest looking at cars such as the Genesis GV60, Ford Mustang Mach-E or Polestar 2. Buying the car on PCP and then paying off the balance may be an option, but you would need to carefully check the terms and conditions as a finance deal may include an early repayment charge which may negate any discount applied.
