What's a good small SUV for £10,000?

We want to replace a Vauxhall Mokka 1.4T SE Auto with 50800 miles. It was built 2014 and bought by us in 2016 with 19500 miles. We have enjoyed it very much but would like to replace it with something similar but slightly smaller, but not lower, and slightly younger – maximum budget £10,000. We would like it to be petrol, automatic and no more than 1500cc. What would you recommend please?

The issue you may have in looking for a replacement that meets these criteria is that the Mokka is a small SUV, so to keep the same height in a vehicle that is also smaller will considerably narrow down your options. The Toyota Yaris Cross is fractionally smaller but is still too new for your budget. One option you could consider is the Suzuki Ignis, which has a tall body and SUV-like proportions but is 3.7 metres long, approximately 40cm shorter than the Mokka. Another option is the Dacia Sandero Stepway, which is under 4.1 metres in length although there will be only a handful of examples within your budget.
