Can I use a Ford 6000CD as a standalone unit?

Does anyone know if a 6000 CD head unit can be used as a standalone? With just the battery +ve and return connected

In theory you could use a car audio unit on its own when connected to suitable 12V power source and the correct speaker connections. We would also suggest using a fuse that matches the amperage from the donor vehicle, but you may also need the security code.

I bought a Citroen C5 2015 model recently, it doesn't have a CD player only a radio. Would I be able to get a cd player fitted and if so do you know roughly how much it would be please?
