Can additives help with DPF issues?
My frandsons 2016 Ford Transit 2.2-litre diesel has just had a seriously choked DPF filter cleared. Apart from the usual recommendations - reduce short journeys, use quality fuel and oils, can you advise on whether additives would reduce future problems please?

A DPF additive can reduced the temperature at which soot is burned off, so in this respect it may help to prevent future blockages, but it is best to consider it as just one of part of good practice such as avoiding shorter journeys where possible to allow the DPF to work as it should.
