What's the best petrol city car to buy?

I am moving towards buying a new city-size car, conventional petrol-driven, i.e no electric or hybrid. What cars are there still available on the new-car market?

The Kia Picanto and Hyundai i10 are two of a dwindling number of traditional, petrol-powered city cars, and both are excellent cars worth a look. Production of the i10 has ended, though, so it would need to be an existing car in stock rather than a fresh order.
