Why is it so expensive to replace headlight bulbs?
A 'Headlights Fault Detected' warning light has appeared on my 2021 Jaguar XE-R Dynamic MHEV which suggests that a bulb needs replacing, however my understanding is that to replace it the undertray, front bumper & other parts will need to be removed for access. This is not a simple DIY task and works will need to be carried out by a garage which will no doubt be quite expensive. What sort of car manufacturer designs a system where a simple bulb change necessitates dismantling parts of the vehicles bodywork, is this not an inherent design fault?
Do I have a claim against Jaguar as had I been aware of the possibility of having to pay hundreds of pounds for a bulb change I would never have considered buying the car in the first place.

If it is just a bulb that needs replacing, there is an access hatch within the wheelarch which makes it possible to remove and replace the bulbs, although you may find it easier to do this by jacking up the car and removing the wheel.
