What tyres would you recommend for a Toyota RAV4?
I have a new Toyota RAV4 and the only issue in my mind are the tyres fitted at the factory. They are Dunlop Grand Trek PT30 (225-60-18) and they do not grip as I am used too (previous two cars were Honda CR-V's on Michelin Cross Climate). I am now on 4000 miles and on occasion the car has slid to a stop which is not a great feel. I am considering replacing them but am not concerned by road noise, grip is important alongside MPG. My preference is all weather tyres.

The Grand Trek tyre is a summer tyre whereas the Michelin Cross Climate is an all-seaon tyre, so generally speaking we would expect the former to offer more grip in the dry with the latter performing better in wet or very cold conditions. The Cross Climate is a good choice and is available in the size you need, we would also suggest considering the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 which has a higher rating for wet grip than the Michelin and is also all-season, or consider the Continental Ultra Contact or Toyo Proxes Comfort, both of which also have a high rating for wet grip.
