Will standard E10 petrol damage the engine of my car?

Petrol grades are changing this year. I’ve read that I should buy superior grades rather than basic, as the latter may damage the engine. Is this true?

The standard grade of petrol was changed from E5 to E10 in September 2021 in the UK, and the government provided a guide on suitability for your vehicle here - www.gov.uk/guidance/e10-petrol-explained#compatibi...y. Unless you car was built before 2011 there should be no issues in using E10, while premium unleaded fuel remains E5 so you may wish to use this occasionally or on a regular basis.
