Are runflat tyres noisier than standard tyres?
I find tyre noise particularly high on my 2023 BMW X2 20d with 20-inch runflat tyres. Would changing the tyres make any difference to road noise?

Run flat tyres can produce more road noise than conventional tyres due to the stiffer sidewall that allows them to function even with a puncture, so switching to non-run flats can help this. If you use a website such as blackcircles.com you can view a range of tyres and see their noise rating, so you can look for a tyre that has better noise performance. We would also suggest making some provision in case of a puncture, such as a spare wheel or emergency tyre inflation kit.
