Engine meltdown -Where do I stand?

I have an Audi A4 estate 2.0l diesel, 2006, 57000mls, Audi FSH. Bought from Lister Audi in 2009.

After a short easy motorway journey at approx 60mph the engine became incredibilly noisey.

The oil pump had ceased working and once on diagnostics was found to have zero oil pressure.

No warning lights at all. Apparently the chain to the pump had snapped.
I am very annoyed that there was no warning. The extended warranty ran out last November.

Should I approach Audi re compensation and if so should this be Lister Audi or the UK set up. We live in Glasgow and from experience Audi Glasgow are rubbish!

This is a very common problem with this engine and a good reason to avoid it. Worth trying Audi. Cannot say if you will be successful.
