Should I use a diesel additive?

Which or what type of additives should I use with lesser brand diesel fuels and how frequently?

There is little in the way of solid evidence to support the use of diesel additives, although some drivers swear by them and others say they make no difference. It's also worth pointing out that no car manufacturers suggest using additives and major hauliers tend not to use them either. Premium fuels contain cleaning additives which are described as supporting engine longevity, but again there is no independent evidence to suggest they offer tangible benefits, or are superior to regular fuels with additives. Ultimately it is not essential to use diesel additives whichever fuel you use, but if you choose to use them we would suggest those from established brands such as Wynn's, Liqui Moly, Forte and so on.
