Replacing stolen BMW

I've recently had my 2008 BMW 335 d M sport saloon stolen after theives broke into out house and stole the keys. My wife is now paranoid that a direct replacement could lead to the same happening but maybe while we are in. Can you help recommend a replacement that might avoid the theives attention but keep the positives? I'm a low milage driver 5k p.a. and we live in a generally low crime rate area with off street parking but have heard that theives are targeting BMW and Audi. I really loved the 335, an element of prestige, easy to drive, very quick and economical. I hope to get the majority of value back through gap insurance and could probably stretch to £40k max.

For 5k miles a year a diesel will offer more problems than benefits. Yes, a 335i coupe is a brilliant car. Far better than the diesel, especially with a manual box. But there is no way of avoiding the treat of theft you describe other than massive security on your house with cameras lined to a remote recorder or buying a car completely unattractive to thieves.
