Best Ford 7 seater to drive - Grand C-Max or S-Max?

I have 5 year old twins and am looking for a decent to drive mid size mpv that i will use mainly as a 4/5 seater with a decent boot and occasionally as a 7 seater. Looking to spend around £25k and get lots of kit. I'm looking at the Ford Grand C-MAX (with the Santa Fe as the current runner up). Was wondering if there's any point paying the extra £3k or so to go for the S-MAX. Main question is whether it is better to drive than the Grand C-MAX. Keep reading how brilliant the S-MAX is to drive but is it appreciably better than the Grand C-MAX, or are they similar? If not, I think I'll stick with the shorter, sliding door, walk through, cheaper Grand C-MAX (although I think the S-MAX wins on looks).

Thanks

That's a really good point. They are both brilliant to drive with an exceptional combination of handling and ride quality. But think S-MAX = Mondeo and Grand C-MAX = Focus. Unless you want the bigger car feel, go for the Grand C-MAX. Don't chuck the Mazda5 1.6 diesel out of the window either. The centre rear seat fold isn't as clever as the Grand C-MAX, but it "feels" a bit bigger and the cheaper TS2 has a nice, soft, but grippy front end, ideal for bad road surfaces
