Taking a car to Singapore

My brother is planning to move to Singapore in a couple of months and says that cars are very expensive to buy there. Would it make sense for him to buy a car here and ship it out? The car he is thinking of buying is a one year old BMW X6, costing £40,000.

The reason why cars are very expensive in Singapore is the tax system there. So taking a car from the UK will not get around that.
