Transferring numberplate from an old vehicle

I wish to sell a registration number from a motorcycle that has not been on the road for many years.

How do I go about this?

First you need to establish that the registration is still attached to the motorcycle. Then you need to get it in working order, MoT, insure and tax it. Then you can sell the plate for transfer but only to another motorcycle, not to a car.
