Is this limit enforceable?

I was driving through a 30mph limit which ended and a 40mph limit started.

I was doing about 45 mph when I noticed a camera van. As this only happened recently I have not received (and do not know if I will receive) a ticket.

I noticed that at the end of the 30 limit, the 40 limit only had a sign on the right hand side of the road, not both sides, although repeater signs were evident along the stretch of road, is the speed limit enforceable?

If you get a ticket, take photographs and consider whether to allow the case to go to court. But it's a gamble.
