What are the best tyres for potholes?

I believe my question is relevant for everyone in UK. The place where I live and drive is full of potholes and I hear many are having bigger repairs caused by these potholes.

Anything we can do to reduce impact of potholes, like using different kind of tyres? Or less air in the tyres etc. Or anything else that comes to mind?

If you are looking for a tyre that is best suited to dealing with potholes, we would suggest choosing a tyre size with a tall sidewall - this is the middle two-digit number within a tyre size, such as 2155/60R17 for example. You may also wish to consider looking at an all-season or winter tyre, as these tend to have more substantial tread blocks which will help to absorb the impact of any pot holes. In terms of tyre pressures, there is no ideal pressure that will suit all circumstances so we would recommend that you inflate your tyres in line with the manufacturer's recommendations.
