How can I clean mould and algae from a Suzuki Grand Vitara roof?

My Suzuki Grand Vitara is suffering from black / green mould / algae on the roof. I have tried washing it off with a good quality wash and wax product. It did not work well. Have you any suggestion how to remove it without damaging the paint work?

We would suggest using a product such as Autosmart G101, which is a multi-purpose cleaner that can be diluted to the required strength and is safe to use on paint, glass and rubber, although you should always follow the instructions and test on a small area first. Use a soft, clean brush or mitten to agitate the surface once sprayed on, and ideally blast it off afterwards with a jet washer.
