I would like to know if importing a Nissan Silvia S13 from Japan would be profitable

There are a lot of dealers who make good money by importing desirable cars from Japan and the S13 is sought-after, so it could be a profitable venture. However, the strength of the Yen versus Sterling at the moment means there aren't as many bargains as there once were. Don't forget that you also have to pay import duties on the purchase price of the car, as well getting it registered and MoT'd, the latter of which will require some modifications to meet UK regulations, such as a rear fog lamp. If you can find a really good example and prepare it properly for sale, you can certainly make some money but make sure you factor in the additional costs above purchase price.
