What is the speed limit in Wales in posted 40mph zones?

What is the new speed limit in posted 40 mph zones I can’t find any definitive answer on this ie 20mph where there are street lights but no mention of 40 zones. Until they actually get round to erecting new signs.

If there are no road signs present then the default speed limit is 20mph, but if there is a speed limit sign indicating a maximum speed other than 20mph then this speed limit applies.
