A car keeps parking in a disabled space without a blue badge so I can't use it, what can I do?

I visit my shops in my car, but every time I go there someone is parked in the disabled bay without a badge and it’s the same person, which puts me off going to the shop because I need to get my wheelchair out.

Ironically the person parked in the disabled bay goes to the gym. Is there any advice you could give me?

It must be a frustrating and disappointing experience to find able-bodied persons without a blue badge using a disabled space. We would suggest alerting the staff of the shop the car park is attached to, or the company responsible for the car park if it is managed by a parking company, that someone not displaying a blue badge is regularly occupying the disabled space.

Our friends at Disabled Motoring UK run an annual campaign around this called 'Baywatch': www.disabledmotoring.org/baywatch/baywatch-2022

We'd suggest also contacting them to get their advice.
