Advice on Sure Sell reserve price

I have a Nissan X-trail 2005 (05 reg).

It has done £40k miles and is in good condition with FNSH and will have new MOT.

I have asked about trading in for a new VW Eos and the dealer has given an indicative offer of £5-£5.5k.

This equates to a trade-in value for a car in average condition. If I were to use Sure Sell instead, at what level should I set the reserve price? Up to what age/value is Sure Sell appropriate?

BCA auctioneers will tell you what reserve they will allow. It's a gamble, of course. Depends on who is bidding on the day. You might get no more than reserver. Or there might be a bidding battle and you get a lot more. Not guaranteed, though. What you don't get is a lot of hassle, late night phone calls, unpleasant people on your doorstep, uninsured 'test drives', bouncing bank drafts. www.sure-sell.info
