Does a video call with a dealer mean a purchase is no longer a distance sale?

My dealer says that if I take a Microsoft Teams call and have the car delivered this makes the sale not a distance sale as we have spoken on a Teams call. Is he right?

I have done all the documentation and paid remotely. I have not been in the showroom at any point.

We cannot offer specific legal advice, but if you have not been on the dealer's premises at any point then this is a distance sale, which comes under different legislation.

We would suggest that, unless you wish to visit the dealer's premises and go ahead with the sale, you should not accept the deal if the dealer will not agree to the sale being under distance sales terms and conditions.
