As a pre-2008 Honda it is likely your car is vulnerable to catalytic converter theft. Honda redesigned later cars to move the cat from underneath the car to in the engine bay, where it is a lot more secure. You can take security measures including purchasing catalytic converter clamps or guards that make them harder to steal.

I had my catalytic converter stolen. Should I have to pay the excess when it wasn’t my fault? My insurance company says it’s regardless of fault.
